They drive in from their gated communities to gather at the Spanish Springs town square where they can partake of 2 for 1 drinks, listen to good music and dance the night away.
Very nice photo. I've just realized what I like the most about your photos - it's light. Ther's always amazing soft light in them:) Wish Lois Anne and you joyful weekend.
No, Leif, not that I know of...but they have lots of parades which include golf cars...you could come down here on your way to Kookamunga and take a few photos...
@ VP - You know, that's a good question. Probably. And the powers-that-be would no doubt hush up the story.
We've ridden bikes through The Villages and it can be very dangerous as these golf cars coming whizzing by from every direction...sort of like bumper cars!
The golf cart photos always bring a smile. While we can't quite imagine it, we still think it's great and would be lots of fun (and secretly wish we owned one, too.)
The Villages is one of the fastest-growing retirement communities in the United States.
Located in Central Florida, about an hour's drive northwest of Orlando, the Villages is now home to some 150,000 residents, many of which travel the area via golf cart.
There are now three "home towns" in The Villages, Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood. Music and dancing is provided nightly in the town squares of each of the home towns.
The Villages is a beautiful community and we hope you enjoy viewing our photos showcasing its many charms.

Anybody crashed his buggy after too many 2 for 1 drinks?

Do they ever have a golf cart race in "The Villages?!" Now that would make for a fun CDP photo snap! You could be the official photographer!
