Derelict fishing boat leaking away at Lake Sumter

In keeping with the Disneyesque tradition, the powers-that-be brought in this derelict boat and anchored it in Lake Sumter; to lend, I think, a bit of reality to what is essentially an unreal situation.

It's cute though, sitting there, leaking away.

Dusk has arrived

This is a slightly different version of yesterday's post, taken a bit later and from farther away. You can see it is getting darker and the colors are deeper and more vibrant.

Dusk is approaching

The sun was setting and dusk approached when Lois Anne took this photo at Lake Sumter.

"Bourbon St."

Directly across the street from the Spanish Springs town square is this particular restaurant.

Initially, it was an Italian restaurant with decent service and decent food. A year or two ago, it changed to a faux New Orleans style business. We made the mistake of eating there about two weeks ago. The service was almost non-existent; the iced tea was indistinguishable from water; Lois Anne's spaghetti tasted like a can of that Franco-American junk; and my sandwich bread had to be a week old.

Needless to say, we won't be back.

This month's theme is yellow. Click here to view the thumbnails of all participants.

The Villages Hospital

The Villages Hospital is a very busy place. Part of the reason is that The Villages is an over-55 community and many of the residents are older than Methuselah (like me)! Fortunately, it is a fine institution, well-equipped with the latest medical technology.

Nancy Lopez Legacy Restaurant & Golf Pro Shop

Nancy Lopez, world-famous golfing legend, owns the Legacy Golf and Country Club in the Spanish Springs area.

The first photo is of her restaurant. We have dined there on one occasion and found the food, service and ambiance excellent in every way.

The second photo is the Golf Shop, a large well-stocked facility as would be expected from someone of Lopez's status in professional golf.
