The Veranda in morphing into Panera Bread

The venerable Veranda restaurant in Lake Sumter Landing has closed. The building will be or has been taken over and transformed into a Panera Bread restaurant. This is only right, seeing as how Spanish Springs has had a Panera Bread restaurant for some time!

We have not been to Lake Sumter Landing for a few weeks; it is possible the transformation has been completed.

Morse Guns

Morse guns in Spanish Springs. There is no such place. But it's a nice sign and there might have been a Morse Guns shop back in the 1800s in a small town in Florida. You just need a little imagination.

TGI Fridays - Lake Sumter Landing

TGI Fridays is relatively new to The Villages, and is the only one I know of in the immediate area. Lois Anne and I had a very nice dinner there fairly recently. The food, ambiance and service was good, which explains why the place is always quite crowded.
