We found this at TooJays. We have no idea what it's about. I want to know, though, who is the best French kisser?

TooJays in Spanish Springs

As regular followers of this blog know, TooJays is our favorite deli in central Florida. There are two TooJays in The Villages - one in Lake Sumter Landing, and the other in Spanish Springs.

We visited the Spanish Springs site a couple of days ago and happened to meet the gentleman you see pictured. He is Dirson DeMesquita, the Regional Supervisor for TooJays, who works out of the corporate office in West Palm Beach.

Mr. DeMesquita graciously agreed to pose for us and we then proceeded to enjoy the culinary arts as crafted so well by the staff at TooJays.

Some of you may recognize the second photo as one we posted many moons ago...but we like it, so we decided to post it again.

The Veranda in morphing into Panera Bread

The venerable Veranda restaurant in Lake Sumter Landing has closed. The building will be or has been taken over and transformed into a Panera Bread restaurant. This is only right, seeing as how Spanish Springs has had a Panera Bread restaurant for some time!

We have not been to Lake Sumter Landing for a few weeks; it is possible the transformation has been completed.

Morse Guns

Morse guns in Spanish Springs. There is no such place. But it's a nice sign and there might have been a Morse Guns shop back in the 1800s in a small town in Florida. You just need a little imagination.
