Condo in Spanish Springs
This photo shows a small sections of condos in a condo village just north of downtown Spanish Springs. A few years ago, we decided to purchase the condo on the far left. It is an older structure and somewhat small, but we liked the fact it was close to the action in Spanish Springs, plus it came with a nice golf car.
We made an offer, put money down and waited for the home inspection report. Our one major requirement was that it be made of concrete block. It is our firm opinion one should not live in a wooden house in Florida for hurricanes tend to turn them into kindling in a matter of minutes.
Unfortunately, the home inspection report noted that it was, indeed, made of wood with a stucco exterior. We cancelled the contract and that, as they say, was that.
In hindsight, it was too small for our needs and a bit too expensive and the monthly fees in The Villages were, and are, exorbitant. So, all's well that end's well.

I think you made a very wise decision, Lowell. It is beautiful but safety is and should be a priority.
