Brownwood - The Villages newest "Home Town"

Brownwood, which is the newest Home Town in The Villages, is now open for business, although it is still in its initial stages.  Many of the shops remain under construction and the outlying areas, which will contain some "big box" stores, have not been started.

Brownwood is designed around a "western" theme.  The theater (which contains 8 different movie showings), the Paddock Square, Sales Office, The Villages Logo Store and a few other places are ready to go.

Again, while many structures are designed to look old, they are not.  The Villages, remember, is pretty much a Disneyland for adults.

We'll post additional photos in the days ahead.

And I really like that because it gives them such a wonderful feeling of vintage.

Awesome photos, Lowell!

Loved the one of the rusty jalopy. Very cool!

I am always amused by the "new/old" look some towns try to maintain! Great shots as always! That's a lot of movie showings in one theater!!! I love the "Disneyland for Adults" title! What a hoot! and the "old kids" do love their golf carts, don't they!!! But I love your blue skies!! Hope your week is going well, Lowell!

Does it sometimes feel like you're living on a movie set Lowell? If so you are definitely the Star in the Village!

Sometimes I wonder why they go for an "old" look rather than a futuristic one...

Hi Lowell,
Marvelous place. Looks sparkling in glorious sunlight. What is an old junk truck from World War I doing there?

I love the feel of this place, the photos are fantastic! I have never been keen on big box stores.

There is something about the perfectness of these new-old buildings that makes it look a bit fake - Disneyland-ish.

We saw this place on our way to Mt. Dora and said we were going to stop back by on our way home to check it out....but it was already 8:30 when we had left Mt. Dora....the place was lit up like Las Vegas as we drove by around 9:00...can't wait to visit it however!!!
