1957 Ford Convertible

In 1957, after we were married, we bought a 1957 Ford 4-door hardtop convertible. A hardtop convertible has no center post so when all the windows are rolled down, it's a free space from front to back. A very cool car. It looked just like this, but with a hard top and different colors - salmon and white. Unfortunately, while it was "new" (a demo), we soon found out it was also a "lemon." The front windshield leaked, and the dealer wasn't able to fix it. The front seats began to wear out almost immediately. We traded it for a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, blue and white.

and I bet you never thought to take photos of your lemon...
that Bel Air was probably magnificent! if I was driving in '55 that would have been my car.

I think the Bel Air is a much better looking car.

I learned to drive in a 56 Chevy - great car but heavy!
I love this Ford - it looks mint condition.

We had a yellow Ford that was a REAL lemon, and it didn't look half as nice as this one.

Hi! Just stopped by via Dianne's blog (Fork Off the Moment).

Wow! Beautiful photos!

Especially enjoyed the one of the "Sunset Through The Gazebo." Stunning!

I lived in Florida for about 20 years.

Gorgeous vintage. Would love to drive this car. What a pity you have traded it. It would have been worth a fortune today ! Have a great week end !

What a gem! Or at least it looks like... A leaking windshield and wearing seats must be really annoying!
God bless you!
