Church on the Square - interior

A few days ago, we posted a photo on our Images - L & L Photography blog taken from inside the church looking out. Some people, such as Ciel at Versailles Daily Photo, expressed an interest in seeing the interior of the church.  Your wish is our command.

Why thank you! And I'm not disappointed one little bit, maybe surprised though. The lamps surprise me.

I've heard that there's an apartment inside there where Walt Disney himself used to stay when he was in town! =0

The colours are warm and the Church has an airiness to it which I've seen in Churches in tropical climes.

Hello again! Now -- let's talk about THIS one! It's magnificent; but what really caught my attention about this is the window over the altar. Their brochure explains it as a long-stored salvaged antique from a church that was demolished. I'm to where I can almost determine the denomination of a church by the appearance of windows such as this (are you thinking what I'm thinking?). Does anyone (even the builder!) happen to have a record of where this window originated? It appears that the window up on the wall in the right transept could be historic also.

The window behind the altar is a Tiffany window. It came from a Victorian church in Pasadena CA that was torn down to make room for a freeway. Someone bought it and stored it for 20+ years until it finally found a home in this church. The pictures really do not do it justice. The stained glass depicts a shepherd and his sheep in beautiful soft tones of greens, blues and whites. Some members of the Pasadena Church put together written materials and photos about this window and sent them to the Villages. We thought they would be interested in its history.

@ Robin: Thank you so very much for this important information. I think you have answered a question a lot of people have asked. It sounds like more details might be obtained by contacting the church directly or maybe The Villages offices.
