The home of retired U.S. naval officers

It is only right that retired U.S. naval officers should fly the U.S. and Navy flags in their front yard in The Villages.

You, Americans, are indeed much more patriotic than we are. I only see the portuguese flag in private yards or condo windows during the soccer euro/world cups! And that 'fashion' started in 2004 when we hosted one of those events... :-)))

I am the owner of this home and I'm sorry to correct you, but while yes, my husband and I are retired Navy officers, the flag is the Marine Corpos flag. We fly that flag in honor of our daughter, Susan, a sergeant in the US Marines who was killed while on active duty (struck by lightning) exactly four years to the date that you posted this photo. Incredible timing. Thank you Lois Anne and Lowell for this honor. Suzanne and Ty Giesemann

I don't quite know how to follow Suzanne's comment...except maybe to say I am sorry she lost her daughter.

And incredible timing to post this photo.

And I love her house/your photo of it.

Thank you, Suzanne and Ty, for your correction on the flag and its purpose. We are blessed to have been led to post this photo on this special day. May you feel the love.
