@ JM and Tricia - "They" work very hard at keeping the place neat and clean...part of its charm...

Now those shapes I can relate to. Are these older buildings, or have they been built recently in an historic style?

@ Tapirgal - These have all been built less than 10 years ago...and they house businesses - mostly, I think, the huge furniture store that takes up several blocks.

It really looks like a model. A perfect model. A bit too perfect maybe...

I love that they built them in the older style!

Lovely ... every time I click into one of your blogs I am impressed with the cleanliness of the area ... everything looks so perfect, its very 'Stepford' isnt it?

@ Daryl - In a way, it's "Stepford." It is kept up very well...and The Villages has a lot of restrictions on what can be built and how it must be built. Homeowners are also bound by certain restrictions, e.g. painting your house, planting trees or shrubs, digging up shrubs and trees, decorations, mailboxes, etc.

Those are some of the reasons we did not buy there...having lived in a condo situation for years, we wanted out from under "restrictions."
