Where are the pelicans in this pic? Aren't there pelicans and flamingos and gators all over Flo-Rida? You know, I have a loon that visits my suburban bird bath each day at sunrise. We have many loons in Minnesota. And walleys and Lutherans.
Very funny, Allison! Pelicans are found on the coasts. Flamingos are generally found in zoos. Gators are, indeed, all over, and there are warnings along the dock here in Lake Sumter Landing to NOT feed the gators!
I can understand a lot of loons in Minnesota. But I never understood why the loon would be named the Minnesota state bird. Oh no, that's wrong; the mosquito is Minnesota's state bird and loon is a euphemism for Norwegian!
Heh. Heh.
I also note you claim to have walleys and Lutherans. Lutherans are generally found in the valleys of despair. What's a walley?
I used to catch Walleyed Pike, though. Usually threw them back. Reminded me of ... oh, never mind.
The Villages is one of the fastest-growing retirement communities in the United States.
Located in Central Florida, about an hour's drive northwest of Orlando, the Villages is now home to some 150,000 residents, many of which travel the area via golf cart.
There are now three "home towns" in The Villages, Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood. Music and dancing is provided nightly in the town squares of each of the home towns.
The Villages is a beautiful community and we hope you enjoy viewing our photos showcasing its many charms.

Great light and beautiful scenery!
Jacob, it's beautiful there - I would love to just sit and look at the lights on the water!
Stunning photo. Nothing better than a summer evening promenade here I bet!
