On Friday evenings, people gather early to meet with friends, purchase 2 for 1 drinks, listen to music and dance at the town squares in Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing. This shot was taken at Spanish Springs.
hummm I'm envious again! What a nice day! By the way...is that lady a really "vintage"? LOL I mean about her t-shirt!!! :-) I would love to be there! Léia
I've sat on a bench and enjoyed a cold beer in this square and was amazed at how old timey it all seemed. Like being transported back in time to a simpler era. You captured it perfectly. It's why people really like The Villages.
The Villages is one of the fastest-growing retirement communities in the United States.
Located in Central Florida, about an hour's drive northwest of Orlando, the Villages is now home to some 150,000 residents, many of which travel the area via golf cart.
There are now three "home towns" in The Villages, Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood. Music and dancing is provided nightly in the town squares of each of the home towns.
The Villages is a beautiful community and we hope you enjoy viewing our photos showcasing its many charms.

Happy hours? Nice:) I like the photo - the yellow - blue building on the right is pretty!
Looks like a fun time! The picture appears to be a good motive for a postcard of Spanish Springs. :-)

@ Joo - "Happy hour" means they have set aside a period of time where patrons may purchase alcoholic drinks 2 for 1 - buy one, get one free.
