This is another "Disney" touch. There are no trains. One can't have a "hometown," however, without a train station. Ergo, the folks in charge built an "old" train station. It's very nice, though.
That's so neat - I have GOT to get down there & check out The Villages - My parents own a moving company & are agents for Atlas Van Lines - they've moved several people to The Villages & they've talked about how well they like it there! I'll get down there one day!
Yup. Can you believe, it's been in the 30s and even mid-20s a couple of nights. Absolutely insanely frigid. We can't live like this. I told someone the other day we're gonna move somewhere where it's warm!
Cielde...like I said, this is a sort of "Disneyland." Every hometown has to have a train station...so they build one, even if there are no trains...It is used, however, as a station for a tram that takes people about the area.
The Villages is one of the fastest-growing retirement communities in the United States.
Located in Central Florida, about an hour's drive northwest of Orlando, the Villages is now home to some 150,000 residents, many of which travel the area via golf cart.
There are now three "home towns" in The Villages, Spanish Springs, Lake Sumter Landing and Brownwood. Music and dancing is provided nightly in the town squares of each of the home towns.
The Villages is a beautiful community and we hope you enjoy viewing our photos showcasing its many charms.

I noticed your weather widget says it's only 48 degrees down there? WoW! That really must be COLD to you guys for Florida!!!
Hi Tricia...I hope you can make it...Like I've said, it's all kind of Disneyesque, but very nice still.

That's very strange! I'd never heard of anything like it!
