These beautiful floral plantings are located next to the Town Center Plaza in Lake Sumter Landing, Florida. This has been cross-posted to Ocala & Central Florida Photos.

Cammisha
Cammisha is a beautiful young lady working at TooJay's Deli in Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages. We met her on Christmas Day when we stopped in for a bite to eat. She made our dining experience a real pleasure. Thanks, Cammisha! And Merry Christmas!

Sightseeing Boat at Lake Sumter Landing
Please note that as of today, this blog - The Villages (Florida) Photos) - is inactive. We have posted pictures to this blog for several years and believe we have provided a fair understanding of what The Villages is all about.
We visit The Villages on occasion and will, naturally, take photographs. These photographs, however, will be posted on our Ocala & Central Florida Photos blog.
Our sincere thanks to who have taken the time to stop by and comment on our photos of The Villages.

Golf Car Garage
Not long ago, we posted a photo of the new golf car sales center and gas station in Lake Sumter Landing. This golf car garage is part of the complex. Golf cars, just like regular cars, will need repairs and servicing at times.
Now you can buy a golf car, gas it up and get it fixed all in the same place.

Ricciardi's
Ricciardi's is an Italian restaurant in the Brownwood hometown. We have not patronized the place, but plan to do so in the near future.

Golf Car Sales & Service - Lake Sumter Landing
This is a relatively new facility. They sell golf cars, gas 'em and fix 'em. Lest you think this is kind of ridiculous, you should know that transportation by golf car is the way to go in The Villages. There are so many people moving to The Villages that not only are the roads jammed with "normal" vehicles but also with golf cars! And the distances can be a challenge so more and more folks are buying gas-powered golf cars.

Golf Car Meeting
When we arrived in Lake Sumter Landing the other evening, we saw all these golf cars lined up in a parking lot. If you click on the photo to embiggen it, you'll notice they are all have basically the same frame or outward appearance. The owners of these golf cars were gathered together listening to a speaker. Shortly thereafter, they went to their golf cars and departed the scene. Where they went, nobody knows. (BTW, these are fairly expensive vehicles!)

Brownwood Post Office
This is what the post office might have looked like if there really was an old western town called Brownwood.

The Villages Golf Cars - Brownwood
Brownwood continues to grow (as does all The Villages). This is quite a large golf car store located on the main street coming into Brownwood from the south.

Unwelcome Door
This door, in Spanish Springs, seems less welcoming than some other doors. Perhaps that's because The Villages is overpopulated and still growing. In fact, it is now the fastest-growing city in the United States with over 114,000 residents and at least that many golf cars!

Gullible gull
What a gullible gull! I told her I would feed her fish if she posed prettily for the camera. She believed me! Most gulls in The Villages know better!

Pond and ducks - Spanish Springs
This photo, as you can tell, is very old. It was taken in 1936. Nah, I'm just kidding. It's been aged in Photoshop.

Red golf car in Brownwood
As you may have guessed, most of those living in The Villages are extremely "conservative" politically.

Las Tapas - Brownwood
Las Tapas is a relatively new operation in Brownwood - it is a Spanish tapas bar, a restaurant and a brewery.
We decided to give it a try not long ago and were somewhat disappointed. As you can see, very few people were present. Our waitress was harried about something and as a result the service was dismal. Dismal could also be applied to the food.
Perhaps Las Tapas was just having a bad day.

Bait Shack - Lake Sumter Landing
Each of the "Hometowns" in The Villages have "bait shacks" in the downtown squares. Usually, the bait shacks offer 2 for 1 drinks from 5 to 7 pm. They call that "Happy Hour." Often by 7:00, lots of folks have become quite "happy."
